How does exacly "Switch to Global for Oreo based MIUI" function works? Do i need to have global firmware flashed or it doesn't matter?
I tried yesterday with Redmi 5 Plus (vince) and it failed. I tried twice, once as vince and second time as vince_ru_global with same result:

[Xiaomi] (MIUI9, Oreo) Switch to vince_ru_global_global ... failed
Phone had flashed chinese firmware that imitated global one - with play store, multiple languages etc. I flashed it with global firmware and it stucked at "this miui version can't be installed on this device", then reflashed cn firmware and phone boots.
I also tried bootloader unlock option in UFI. It says the process is done but bootloader is still locked:
